2022 Volunteer for Vets Scholarship Winner: Grayson Gasca

Biography: I am an active-duty soldier and have been for over six years now. I am also a father and a husband. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, studying for CompTIA exams, playing video games, and working out. While in the military, I have deployed twice, totaling 12 months. I started pursuing my education about 3-4 years ago and have taken online classes. I received my associate degree in General Education from a local community college in 2020. Since then, I have pursued a double major of a Bachelor of Science in National Security Studies & Cybersecurity at Norwich University. I recently finished the National Security Studies curriculum and have moved on to Cybersecurity studies. I loved studying National Security, and I am also proud and excited to broaden my knowledge and skills in cybersecurity.

Reaction Statement: Once I learned that I had won a scholarship, I was speechless. I had never won a scholarship before, so my jaw dropped. I was sitting on the couch watching TV and doing homework with my wife. Once I read the notification, I had to stop everything, including the assignment and TV, and take a minute to realize that I had won. It was an exciting moment that I am ultimately grateful for.

John helped us with a DC tax audit and succeeded in getting us a "no change" final decision. The issues were related to two flow-through entities and the use of carry-forward operating losses -- something that the DC auditors struggled to understand and with which they did not have any...

Mr. Pontius is extremely professional and was able to take care of my tax returns which includes international bank accounts quickly and at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.
