Sarah Valdez

Sarah Valdez joined Pontius Tax Law following a 16-year career with the Internal Revenue Service. Ms. Valdez worked as a Revenue Officer for the first 13 years and as a Collection Appeals Officer for the final 3 years of her IRS career. As a former IRS Officer, she has an in-depth understanding of the IRS’s policies and procedures and knows how the IRS operates in theory and in reality. While at the IRS, Ms. Valdez helped thousands Taxpayer’s resolve their delinquent accounts in a myriad of ways, through working closely with them to explain their rights and the resolution options available. She has negotiated and reached settlements with Taxpayers and their representatives under the offer in compromise program. Ms. Valdez brings a solid understanding of IRS procedures, the Appeals process, and the various different programs available to both individual and business taxpayers who have past due federal tax liabilities.

Education

Ms. Valdez graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Management and Business Administration.
